Greg Onofrio, better known as Grego or GregO, rocked Houston airwaves starting in 1989 at the legendary terrestrial AOR station Rock 101 KLOL-FM. As the original “Head Outlaw,” he launched and hosted the wildly popular nighttime show Outlaw Radio, earning national acclaim for its groundbreaking, high-energy format that captured the rebellious spirit of rock ‘n’ roll. Delighting listeners with bold personality, killer tunes, and unforgettable vibes, Grego became a staple of the station’s heyday, putting Houston on the map in the radio world. His time at KLOL solidified his reputation as a fun, edgy broadcaster who connected deeply with the city’s rock fans—think late-night anthems, wild stories, and pure outlaw attitude that made the show a must-listen.

After KLOL, he continued his radio journey, including a stint as a TV news anchor on NewsFix at CW39, before returning to the airwaves.Today, Grego works as on-air talent for 95.7 The Spot (KKHH-FM) in Houston, where he’s been the solo voice and brand ambassador for the Adult Hits station since 2019, with extensions keeping him rocking into recent years.
